    Get ready before the program begins. Learn Git basics, understand how the internet and browsers work, and complete introductions to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python
  • Week 1

    Web Foundations

    • HTML5: Semantic structure, forms, accessibility (ARIA), and SEO best practices.
    • CSS3: Selectors, modern units (rem, vh/vw), CSS Variables, and Flexbox layouts.
    • Responsive Design: CSS Grid, media queries, mobile-first methodology, and SASS/SCSS.
    • JavaScript Basics: Variables, types, control flow, functions, and scope.
    • ES6+ Features: Destructuring, spread/rest operators, template literals, and data structures.
  • Week 2

    JavaScript and React

    • Async JavaScript: Higher-order functions, async/await, Promises, and the Fetch API.
    • React Core: The Virtual DOM, JSX, functional components, Props, and rendering logic.
    • React Hooks: State management with useState, side effects with useEffect, and the Rules of Hooks.
    • TypeScript: Types, interfaces, generics, and strict configuration with React.
    • Form Handling: React Hook Form, schema validation with Zod, and typed submissions.
  • Week 3

    Advanced React Architecture

    • React Router: Client-side routing with dynamic routes, URL parameters, and layouts.
    • Redux Toolkit: Global state management with slices, actions, reducers, and async thunks.
    • Authentication: JWT tokens, protected routes, and auth context.
    • Performance: useRef, useMemo, useCallback, and custom hooks.
    • UI/UX Patterns: Atomic Design, reusable component libraries, and loading feedback.
  • Week 4

    React Project Week

    Put your frontend skills to the test with an individual project. You will design, build, and present a complete React application using everything learned in weeks 1 through 3, including routing, state management, TypeScript, and polished UI/UX
  • Week 5

    Python and Databases

    • Python Basics: Syntax, data structures, list comprehensions, functions, and virtual environments.
    • OOP and SQL: Object-Oriented Programming, classes, inheritance, and relational database design.
    • Django Setup: Projects, apps, models, the ORM, migrations, and the admin panel.
    • REST Framework: Serializers, API views, and full CRUD operations with DRF.
    • DRF Security: JWT and token-based authentication, permissions, and nested serializers.
  • Week 6

    Deployment & Django Project

    • Deployment: Environment files, secret keys, local PostgreSQL setup, and serving static files.
    • Production: CORS configuration, frontend-backend connection, Heroku (backend), and Netlify (frontend).
    • Django Project: Build a complete Django REST API project from scratch.
  • Week 7

    AI & Final Project

    • AI Fundamentals: Artificial intelligence overview, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.
    • OpenAI API: API key management, text and image generation, and structured outputs.
    • AI-Assisted Dev: Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Lovable, and V0 for rapid prototyping.
    • AI Limitations: When not to use AI, security risks, and hallucination awareness.
    • Final Project Kick-off: Project proposals, database schema design (ERD), API design, and wireframes.
  • Week 8-9

    Final Projects

    Two weeks dedicated to building your capstone project individually. You will apply the complete stack (React, TypeScript, Python, Django, and AI integration) to create a production-ready application that serves as the centerpiece of your developer portfolio

  • How many instructors will there be during the program?

    Students can expect to have different instructors, each covering a wide range of topics. There will also guest speakers from the industry who will visit the class to give short talks on particular subjects related to the program.

  • What other type of support will I have during the course?

    In addition to the instructor, there will be Teaching Assistants (TAs). They will attend class with you and be a vital resource of assistance. The other students in the classroom, with whom you’ll form a strong bond, will also be a valuable source of help and collaboration. At Constructor Academy, it’s all about teamwork. The success of one student translates to the success of all.

  • Do I need to bring my own laptop for the course and what operating system do I need?

    Yes, you'll need your own laptop. Any operating system, Windows or macOS, are fine. If you chose Windows, please install Ubuntu on your machine before starting the pre-work.

  • What coding level do I need?

    Basic programming experience is ideal but not required for the Web Development & AI Intensive Program. Motivation and drive are the most important factors.

  • Online attendance

    The program can be attended remotely. Please indicate this on the application form.

  • I‘m not a citizen of Switzerland nor any other EU-member country: can I still apply?

    Students from all countries are welcome to apply. However, we do not sponsor student visas. If you can obtain a visa to spend 3 months in Switzerland, you can attend the program in-person. Otherwise, you can attend online.

  • What’s the technical interview like?

    Regardless of your coding experience, you must pass a coding challenge. You will receive an email with a list of explained JavaScript exercises and tutorials to complete within 10 days. A date and time will be set, and you will be asked specific questions over a video call by an instructor on what you have learned during this time.

  • How many students are there per class?

    To maintain a high level of interaction and instruction, each class has an average of 15-20 students.
